Traveling is more than a hobby for me. It's a passion!

I prefer to avoid the touristic places and explore the unknown paths in order to meet the local population. Unfortunately, this becomes more difficult year after year and more and more inventiveness is needed.

To take good travel photos, it takes just a little more than a simple quick click with the camera. You have to be able to react quickly in the situation and yet you have to be modest, something that is easier with a smaller group. During a trip you experience a thousand and one emotions that are great to capture photographically. How nice is it not to review your dream vacation with beautiful photos and share them with your friends...

  • After months of traveling in the deserts of Egypt and with the political situation becoming more and more difficult, I was lucky enough to leave in 2011 for the distant Odisha (India).  Tanzania, Vietnam, Myanmar, Ethiopia and Nagaland were later visited.
All top destinations and not only to meet ethnic groups but also to discover the beautiful nature; Egypt is more than a sandbox with pyramids.... And every corner of India gives you a different impression.
  • After 2013 other remote areas were explored such as Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, China and Taiwan. South America like Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru and Chile was discovered by public transport.
  • From 2016, some areas were traveled with an "overland / tent" such as Central Asia with Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, Armenia and Georgia. Africa was also discovered with South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Morocco, Mauritania, Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Liberia and Ghana followed later. This adventure ended just before the Corona outbreak in March 2020.
  • After two years of rest, the suitcase was collected again in 2022 and I left for the unknown Bangladesh, an undiscovered pearl!

Photographically this results in more than 80,000 photos, too many to show here. At the bottom you see one photo per country outside Europe.

Because I like to explore unknown paths, I don't like to travel alone, I prefer a small group. It is a great pleasure for me to share my photo experiences.
